Hello. My name is Michelle and I want to tell you why I started Everyone Can Create.
When I turned 39 I made a commitment to myself that I would create something every single day for a full year.
Everyday.
365 days straight.
It didn’t matter how tired, insecure, unmotivated, busy, or sad I felt. I showed up for myself each of those days. In that time I found a level of self compassion I didn’t realize I was capable of. I never went to art school or felt confident in my artistic abilities but I had a deep desire to do something creative. During that year I discovered a wealth of techniques that skirted around my inner critic and left me, if not liking at least admiring, instead of hating, what I’d done.
I also came away from that experience 100% convinced every single person can create something beautiful. Some people look at me like I’m crazy and say essentially, “I can barely even draw a stick figure.” Can you hold a pen? Can you draw a squiggly line? How about dip a paint brush in paint? Everyone Can Create. I’m sure of it.
